Lot 32: JOSÉ ANTONIO CAEZ NARVAEZ


Mr. José Antonio was born in the municipality of Consacá Nariño; and is 63 years old; of which he has worked in the cultivation of coffee for approximately 40 years.

His family is made up of his wife María Marleni Chavez and three children born from their marriage, two boys and one girl. The family has been characterised by being coffee growers all their lives; doing the work at the family level.

They have two coffee farms, one in the municipality of Consacá with an area of ​​4 hectares in coffee, and the other in the municipality of Tangua, San Vicente village, department of Nariño, with an area of ​​1 hectare, a farm that is located at 2000 meters above sea level, which makes their coffee high and of good quality, the farms are cultivated with coffee from the Castillo variety.

The beneficiation system is traditional, using fermentation tanks with a fermentation time of 20 hours. This time is required for the mucilage to release due to the height at which the farm is located, at 2,000 meters above sea level. Washing in the tank removing the floats and dry grains, using 2 rinses with clean water, then it is passed through a sieve to remove pulps adhering to the coffee and is immediately removed to drying.
